Christmas

We had a great Christmas this year! We spent Christmas Eve at Chris' sister's house and Christmas day with my family. Kylie got spoiled (as usual) with all of her gifts. She hasn't decided on her favorite toy, but she does walk around with a sparkly pink purse her Aunt Anna bought her.

As for the new year, Kylie is moving up to the next level of Kindermusik beginning in Jan. She's a month ahead of schedule, so it will be exciting to see how she progresses in an older classroom setting.

When Kylie and I went to the aquarium yesterday I discovered a new book that outlines 200 playdates in the Denver metro area. Since we both like to keep busy my goal for 2013 is to visit 25 attractions. I'll be sure to blog about them so you can experience them as well.

We don't have any planned trips due to our hellacious California experience last March. My family will be in town this summer for a big family reunion which should be a blast...assuming I make everyone check their phones at the door.

Happy New Year!

Catch Up

This year we spent Thanksgiving with the Kriegers rather than driving across the state to see both of our families. It worked out much better and Kylie was pleasant the entire time! We spend the morning watching the parade & looking through the black Friday ads. The next morning she woke up at 4:30am ready to go. Sorry Kylie, not this year.

For the most part I try to keep her diet pretty RAW. Up until recently Kylie couldn't get enough eggs. Sometimes she would eat up to 3 scrambled eggs a day which Chris had to make b/c I can't stand the sight or smell of them. Now she just feeds them to the dogs.

Kylie got a kitchen for her birthday and we practice pouring tea back and forth. We used to have two cups and now we one left b/c Scout (our dog) decided she wanted some tea as well. She must of enjoyed it, b/c she ate the handle too.

Since Kylie was 6 months old she has been fascinated with Mickey Mouse. We have a couple of stuffed characters that she likes to carry around. My mom found a pair of Minnie Mouse shoes for Christmas so I decided to put them on her to wear to Kindermusic. They're a little big but really cute!

Haircut

Kylie got her first haircut on Thursday. She refused to wear the smock and wasn't too sure about Suzanne. Luckily there was a dog, Sir Henry, to distract her. She was happy once she was back in the car with a butterfly clip. The last 2 pics are of Sadie who decided she wanted a snack and got her head stuck in Kylie's Halloween bucket.

Happy Halloween

This year we kept it pretty low key and I adopted the KISS (keep it simple stupid) motto for Kylie's costume. We wanted her to experience trick or treating for the first time so we took her to 5 houses on our street. She didn't mess with her hood or whiskers which was quite a surprise. She walked all the way up each driveway and then turned back as soon as she reached the sidewalk that led to the door. She was in bed by 7:30 as she is getting her first haircut tomorrow and has a birthday party to attend on Friday.

Pumpkin Patch

We ventured out to the pumpkin patch at Chatfield of Friday with Nicholas and Stella and had a grand old time. The field was huge with 100's of pumpkins to choose from. Kylie dove right in compared to Stella and Nicholas who didn't care for the vines or dirt. By the end of the day we had 4 pumpkins, 2 rocks and cliff bars in our waggon b/c Kylie refused to ride in it. Needless to say my arm is a little sore today from carrying her for an hour and a half.
