We spent the weekend before Christmas making cookies. Trying to adhere to clean eating we made chocolate macaroons & sugar cookies. Both recipes turned out really good, but we favored the chocolate macaroons sweetened with agave. Kylie loves to help in the kitchen and will pull up a chair when I start to make anything. On Christmas Eve we went to church before heading to Chris' sister's house for dinner & gifts. Kylie and her cousins spent most of their time chasing after one another while Kylie yelled Boys! We opened gifts on Christmas morning at our house before heading to my parents. Kylie got a playhouse tent, books, popsicle molds, activity books, & a toothbrush. Can you guess her favorite gift...? Yep the toothbrush! It just proves that kids don't need elaborate things when they are younger. She has since gotten into a few of her books and spends hours in her playhouse. When we arrived at my parents house we enjoyed a couple rounds of mimosas before opening Kylie's gifts. I thought this would be the magic year when Kylie got into it, but maybe it's 3.

Gymnastics, Butterflies & Santa!
Kylie began gymnastics last month and enjoys jumping on the tramp/sliding full force into the foam pit. They focus on one apparatus per class and so far she has done beam and bars. The rest of the time is dedicated to free time, stretching & parachute play. We have two more classes and then plan on taking a break.
We met Aunt Anna at the Butterfly pavilion a couple of weeks ago. We walked around and saw the insects before heading into the butterfly room. One of the butterflies landed on Kylie's shoulder which she did not appreciate. I don't think we will be back for awhile...
Kylie and I decorated a gingerbread house on Friday. She was a great roof decorator until she started eating all the gum drops. When I took them away she got frustrated and banged her head on the table which landed her in timeout. Hopefully it will go smoother next year.
Today we went to brunch with my parents at the club. It was so much fun! We were greeted by carolers & Santa Claus himself. Kylie touched Santa's coat but would not sit on his lap. We enjoyed an amazing buffet, mimosa's, spiked hot chocolate & cookie decorating. Later in the afternoon I took Kylie to the Nutcracker. She was mesmerized the first 10min and didn't move. During intermission we went back stage where she twirled and jumped. After we returned to our seats she kept whispering dance, dance, dance. All and all she made it through 25 min of dancing.
