Last Weekend of Summer

We spent the weekend keeping Kylie busy and enjoying the warm weather. I took a cooking class on Friday night with one of my friends. We learned how to make 4 punches & 4 small plates. It was so much fun and a nice way to kick off the last weekend of summer. On Saturday we took Kylie to swimming lessons where she mastered her back float. She was hesitant to lay her head all the way back in the water, but she finally relaxed and did it for a couple of minutes. On Sunday we went to Hudson Gardens where we walked around the pumpkin patch & went through the mini maze.

Vail

Chris and I headed up to Vail for our anniversary last weekend and it was a much needed break for both of us. We went SUP'ing down the Colorado River through class I & II rapids. It was so much fun, but really challenging. In the afternoon Chris biked Vail pass while I walked around and took pictures. We finished off the night at Sweet Basil which is my favorite restaurant of all time! Their menu changes seasonally so you never know what they are going to have. I had an incredible corn potage, fillet mignon & side of new potatoes. I asked for their potage recipe and I was pleasantly surprised they gave it to me. Talk about gourmet and time consuming...there's about 30 ingredients. Next year we plan on taking Kylie up there during the summer so she can enjoy the scenery and play in the many fountains while I enjoy a dance performance.

Music and Movement Classes

Kindermusic was on hiatus during August so Kylie and I started a mini-dance movement class at the studio where I teach. It's so much fun and Kylie does pretty well following Miss Alli's instructions. Today, Miss Bobbi, who is old school and strict, came to observe and Kylie just gave her a smirk and kept on dancing with her ribbons. I didn't get many blog worthy pics during class, but I did manage to get a good one after class.
