California

We flew out to California to attend my cousin's wedding last week. We took Kylie to the beach in Malibu where she built sand castles & marched along the shore. We spent a half a day at the most crowded place on earth...Disneyland. We rode the teacups, dumbo, carousel, small world, & rodger rabbit. However, Kylie preferred meeting the characters; Mickey, Minnie, Goofy & Pluto. Although it was nice to get away, the never ending traffic & mountain-slow service was a gentle reminder about how good I have it in CO.

Funny Stories

Kylie hung out with Aunt Cathy last Wednesday and I thought I would include the following narrative so she could enjoy it when she gets older.

...I'm told if I can laugh, if I should stay or if I should go, what we're
going to watch, and what we're going to play. Wanted to ride her bike, fly a kite,
go outside, watch Little Mermaid (wanted nothing to do with Merry Poppins today)
Watched one of her favorite Little Einstein episodes about a bald eagle.

She likes to pick the petals off your flowers - when I told her she shouldn't, she figured
if I was on the other side of the porch (pointed away and said go!), what I didn't see
wouldn't be a problem...

Kylie also likes watching classic Donald Duck cartoons on the pewter (computer). C was trying to bargain with her last night in order to stay downstairs by offering her other options, How about...Next thing we know Kylie says, How about we watch Donald on the pewter. She marched upstairs to the office while C & I laughed. Daddy soon followed her upstairs and turned on a classic for her.

July 4th @ Copper

We spent the 4th at Copper this year and it turned out to be such a nice getaway. We rented boats on Lake Dillon, rode the alpine slide, sat in traffic (HA!), went round'n'round on the bumper boats with Kylie, played in the sandbox/playhouse, climbed a mountain in our sandals, walked on stilts, popped bubbles, listened to Max Schneider & ate junk food.
