Looking back, January seems like such a blur. I feel like we spent most of our time indoors since there was a tropical heatwave outside
(cue the opening blizzard scene from Grumpy Old Men).
Chris and I finally decided on a preschool which we think Kylie will thrive in next year. It has a small class size ratio 1:6 & the curriculum is biblically based. When I took the initial tour before Christmas they actually had coloring pages of Jesus and Mary hanging on the walls. The program feeds into a private Christian school which we will evaluate when the time comes. Luckily our neighborhood elementary school is one of the top performing schools in the state, but security is always in question nowadays.
I pulled Kylie out dance for a couple weeks because she wasn't listening and wanted to run the last half of the class. A new little girl, Nina, joined the class last week and Kylie got
served (JK). Nina is the little sister of one of my former students and listens/dances like a champ. She is the youngest of 4 and has been the easiest to raise according to her mom. Hopefully some of her listening habits will rub off on Kylie.
We took Kylie to the stockshow this year where she enjoyed riding a pony with B, watching the Westernaires & eating overpriced cheese pizza. We made it through the entire rodeo and witnessed some pretty incredible cowboys. I still think it would be fun to ride on a bucking bronco but with less intensity.
Our remaining time was dedicated to work & church. I'm still teaching 2 classes a week & take class on Wed nights. This year we are performing three pieces and I'm in love with two contemporary combos. I will definitely post a clip of one of them soon. Chris attends his small group once a month and I'm still in search for a working mom's group.
Until next time stay warm!
