Kylie began gymnastics last month and enjoys jumping on the tramp/sliding full force into the foam pit. They focus on one apparatus per class and so far she has done beam and bars. The rest of the time is dedicated to free time, stretching & parachute play. We have two more classes and then plan on taking a break.
We met Aunt Anna at the Butterfly pavilion a couple of weeks ago. We walked around and saw the insects before heading into the butterfly room. One of the butterflies landed on Kylie's shoulder which she did not appreciate. I don't think we will be back for awhile...
Kylie and I decorated a gingerbread house on Friday. She was a great roof decorator until she started eating all the gum drops. When I took them away she got frustrated and banged her head on the table which landed her in timeout. Hopefully it will go smoother next year.
Today we went to brunch with my parents at the club. It was so much fun! We were greeted by carolers & Santa Claus himself. Kylie touched Santa's coat but would not sit on his lap. We enjoyed an amazing buffet, mimosa's, spiked hot chocolate & cookie decorating. Later in the afternoon I took Kylie to the Nutcracker. She was mesmerized the first 10min and didn't move. During intermission we went back stage where she twirled and jumped. After we returned to our seats she kept whispering dance, dance, dance. All and all she made it through 25 min of dancing.

I'm Jumping!
One of the exercises in Kylie's dance class is running & jumping over a small stuffed animal. She did it for the first time 4 weeks ago and now she's obsessed jumping on the floor, off chairs, beds, stairs, ect.

Catch Up
October was a whirlwind for us! The month just kept getting busier and busier. If we weren't entertaining or having dinner with the neighbors we were out constantly on the go.
One of the benefits of living in an older neighborhood is the volume of leaves the trees shed. I started the raking process about 3 weeks ago and let Kylie go wild. She loved walking and laying in them while wearing her cowgirl boots.
I grew 3 varieties of pumpkins in our garden this year. We were able to harvest 7 before the frost hit in early September but they didn't get nearly as big as I thought they would. I took one of the smaller ones down to my parent's house to carve. Although Kylie didn't want to touch the seeds, she did stir the inside with her leaf & pine needle once it was cleaned out.
Kylie is the slide queen of the park. We still go even if it's freezing outside so she can burn some energy. No matter what park we go to she will find the biggest slide to go down all by herself.
Kylie dressed up as Minnie Mouse for Halloween. We went up to Arvada so she could trick or treat with her cousins. In typical Colorado style we had to wear winter coats over our costumes because it was cold & windy. That night she enjoyed a bag of M&M's & a nibble of 3 Musketeers. The rest of the candy went to my dad to enjoy.
This past weekend Kylie and I went to my parents house and of course visited the park before going to a birthday party on Sunday at MyGym. Kylie loved playing in the ball pit, climbing the ramps, and zip lining. It was such a cool place to rent out for a 2 yr old's birthday.
This week we start gymnastics while we continue with Kindermusic and dance. I'm also touring 3 church preschools this week as spots fill up quickly. Other than that Kylie still loves Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, counts up to 14, practices her chasse' by saying syide (slide), hates wearing shoes & socks, loves playing with her cousin Cole and best friend Stella, jumps when she gets mad, loves to read and destroy her cardboard books, cautiously quiet in large crowds, keeps her distance from girly girls, enjoys cuddling with daddy and dancing with mommy.
