Tiny Town

We took a Sunday trip to Tiny Town which is nestled between the foothills and mountains. It was indeed tiny and in need of repair, but we still had a good time. We rode the train and spent an hour walking around. Kylie had fun in a couple of the buildings but she loved playing with the small rocks. Maybe she'll be a geologist!

Littleton Museum

I took a day off and took Kylie to the Littleton Historic Museum which is an old working farm. There's really not much to see inside b/c you spend most of your time outside walking the grounds among the animals. I have a feeling we'll be going there a lot since school is back in session.

Happy Birthday Kylie!

Kylie officially turned 1 on August 3rd! People kept asking us if we could believe it, and my answer was a resounding Yes, I Can. I don't know how we would have made it without our families.

We held a family birthday party a week before Kylie's birthday. As you can see she liked hanging out with Kyle in the garden who both share a love of dirt. Aunt Barb made her a Minnie Mouse cake which she took a bite of, but mostly just made a mess of it. On her actual birthday Chris and I took her down to Cheyenne Mountain Zoo where you can get really close to all the animals. She hung in there for 2 hrs and then let us know she was ready to go.

One of her favorite toys right now is her car she got from Aunt Bug & Aunt Cindy. We go up and down on the sidewalk for at least 20 min a day. There's been times Kylie Rene' throws a tantrum when she has to go inside which lands her in timeout for 5 min in her crib.

The last picture is Kylie's bike helmet. Chris and I thought it would be fun to take her on bike rides so we purchased a trailer this weekend and off we went. She had a pimped out ride which included toys, milk, iPhone, aspen leaves so we thought we were covered. Needless to say, it was a hellacious experience. A 45 min ride turned into 2 hrs with Kylie screaming a majority of the time.  I ended up carrying her the last half mile and couldn't stop laughing. I just thought to myself this is why we don't travel. Here's to next time...

Yard Transformation

For those of you who don't know we purchased a foreclosure home 4 years ago. We try to do a couple of projects every year. This year was the back yard and boy what a difference. So glad it's done b/c Kylie LOVES being outside. Here are some before and after shots...

Fathers Day

On Father's Day, Chris took a day off and I took Kylie down to Parker to play the par 3 course with my Dad. Kylie screamed the whole way to Grandma & Grandpa's, but put on a happy face when we walked in the door. She was so excited to play on the soft grass that she skipped her morning nap. We all had a great time and I know my dad can't wait until she can use her own purple putter. I still use my 4 clubs I had as kid and refuse to upgrade. I don't mind bending down a little farther to putt. It doesn't matter if you have the latest & greatest, it's how you utilize what you currently have/own.

Pictures

For those of you know me, know I'm very particular about photos. Here are some of Kylie's 8 month shots taken by Vision Photography. They really capture her firecracker personality.

Parker Days

The last 2 months have been a whirlwind. Between Easter, Kylie's baptism & recital last weekend we are ready for some down time. Last Sunday I took Kylie to Parker Days with my parents. She had a great time and experienced her first pony ride which she enjoyed thoroughly. She is constantly on the move & loves to climb stairs. The doctor thinks she will be walking by her birthday (1.5 months away!). She will have plenty of room to play in our backyard that is currently in the middle of a huge transformation (pics coming soon). Kylie was not a fan of baby food & has taken a liking to Cheerios. She also enjoys strawberries, peas, turkey, lettuce & tomatoes.
